THE BANE OF ‘WHITE SUPREMACY’

When White adventurers set out to explore the world in the late 1400s, they did so in expertly constructed but relatively tiny wooden sailing craft, braving the wicked seas and foul weather. Scurvy, disease, and malnutrition took their toll, leading to high mortality rates among the crew members.

At first, inaccurate or non-existent maps, previously uncharted waters, hurricanes, typhoons and coral reefs posed the threat of shipwreck or ending up at the bottom of the briny depths.

Yet none of these things could stop White swashbucklers from venturing out onto the vast oceans in an effort to discover the true extent of the globe.

On land, White explorers conquered rugged terrain, swollen rivers and inclement weather—from frigid cold to sweltering heat—to venture into the wilds of North America, the rainforests of Africa, the jungles of Asia and the Pacific isles, and the uncharted realms of Central and South America.

White curiosity could not be quenched by any of the hazards faced along the way. Should one expedition and its members not return, new explorers signed up with little hesitation to continue the search for new lands and new opportunities, even though, at the time, even Europeans believed there might be horrifying sea monsters waiting under the waves to swallow their vessels or tribes of ferocious giants waiting in the dense woods to gobble them up in a single bite.

Later, with the perfection of the astrolabe, the magnetic compass, the invention of the sextant, and the creation of accurate charts and maps, things became a bit easier, but still, danger lurked everywhere.

When these explorers reported back to their benefactors (those who paid for these expensive journeys), they related some of the amazing things they had discovered, including vast mineral wealth and natural resources: tons of gold and jewels in Central and South America; expansive forests offering unending amounts of lumber in North America, precious gems in Asia, and startling wildlife in Africa.

But what they also found, nearly everywhere they ventured, were other humans. With the exception of the races found in India, China, Japan, the northern part of the Malay Archipelago, the Aztecs and the Incas, these races were almost universally nearly naked, illiterate, and often possessed pre-Stone Age technology.

Many of these peoples had never even had Stone, Bronze or Iron Ages, had never conceived of a written language, or had any sort of “tools” apart from rocks they picked up off the ground. They had no farms, no regular food supply—and indeed, many were ardent cannibals, including the otherwise comparatively advanced Aztecs and other Amerindians. Clothing, cooking utensils, the wheel, and all other basic components of even the most primitive civilizations were found to be completely absent.

True, there were still remnants of once-advanced cultures in Central and South America, but the natives had seemingly lost the sophisticated architectural and astronomical abilities obviously demonstrated by their ancient forebears, who they all universally described in their legends as bearded, white-skinned, culture-bearing gods.

This huge difference in technology, culture, and basic civilizational artifacts between the races naturally led the White explorers to see themselves as superior. And then it was that the idea of White supremacy and White pathological altruism took root—a bane to the White race ever since.

Instead of leaving these people in their Paleolithic, or pre-Paleolithic state, Whites took on the belief that it was their duty, as a “superior race,” to offer these primitives all the benefits Western man could offer. Motivated by paternalistic munificence and a genuine desire to help “uplift” the races of the world, Whites set about transferring European technology, knowhow, and education to the non-White races of the world and to “rule over them for their own good.”

This was done with a complete misunderstanding of race and its relation to culture. Each race produces a culture, or a civilization, which is reflected by its own innate abilities and values. This the “White supremacists” failed to understand. They believed that, once the non-White races had been “taught” Western civilization and culture, they would all become just like Europeans, only perhaps with different colored skins, and “civilized.”

At the same time all this was happening, the primitives on the receiving end of this White largesse stood in wonder. To the present day, the word for a European person in Central Africa is “mundele,” which literally originates from the sub-Saharan African word for “spirit-like being.”

But therein lies the rub. This awe and wonder of the White man and his magical technology would fade, and, as the non-White races gained the advantage of reading, writing, Western education, and medicine, so did they experience an inevitable political awakening and population explosion.

Now, the former primitives, all using White technology and learning, demand “reparations,” demand “equal rights,” demand “affirmative action” and demand the right to take over and physically occupy the White man’s lands. This process, unless checked, will have a disastrous outcome. Clearly, “White supremacy,” the paternalistic attitude which claimed that Whites had a duty to rule over and uplift the non-White world, was, and is, a catastrophe that might yet see the final extermination of the White race. ❖ —PAUL ANGEL, EXECUTIVE EDITOR.
