The UK Parliament has been “corrupted by a genocidal foreign power”—a direct reference to Israel and the Jewish lobby’s stranglehold over the British government—according to famous rock musician Roger Waters.

Waters, best known for being the frontman of the supergroup Pink Floyd, made the claim in a video protest released on social media after the British government declared the “Palestine Action” group—a small number of anti-Israel militants who oppose the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel—as a “terrorist organization.”
In his protest video, Waters showed a card that he had written, which said, “Roger Waters supports Palestine Action, 5th of July 2025. Parliament has been corrupted by agents of a genocidal foreign power. Stand up and be counted.”
Waters went on to say, “It’s Now. This is the moment. I am Spartacus.”
“This is Independence Day, July 5th, 2025,” he continued. “I declare my independence from the government of the U.K., who have just designated Palestine Action a terrorist, proscribed terrorist organization.”
Waters said he supported Palestine Action, calling it a “great organization,” and that they were “nonviolent” and “absolutely not terrorists in any way.”
“They’re a nonviolent protest organization protesting the presence in the U.K. of Elbit Systems, who are an Israeli arms manufacturing organization,” he continued.
“So, that’s that. I support Palestine Action, and I always will because that is the right thing to do.”
Under the draconian laws put into place by the UK government—and which have been used to jail countless people over their opinions and nothing else—expressing approval for Palestine Action places Waters at risk of prosecution and punishment of up to 14 years in prison.
The Jewish lobby’s prime pressure group in the UK, known as the “Campaign Against Antisemitism” (the equivalent of the US’s ADL), immediately announced on its website that if the UK state did not launch a prosecution of Waters, it would start a private prosecution of its own.
In addition, another Jewish lobby pressure group, “UK Lawyers for Israel,” reported Waters to the British counter-terrorism police for the social media post.
