The violent anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests in Los Angeles have been characterized by protestors waving the flags of the countries to which they object being deported.
The riots, centered in Paramount and Compton, turned violent as Third World illegal invaders clashed with federal agents and local law enforcement, prompting President Donald Trump to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order, a move criticized by California Governor Gavin Newsom as “inflammatory.”
Protesters were seen waving flags of countries such as Mexico, Honduras, and Morocco—nations to which they and others face deportation.
Demonstrators chanted “ICE out of LA!” blocked roads with cement blocks and shopping carts and threw rocks and set vehicles ablaze. Federal officials reported slashed tires and defaced buildings, with many deputies sustaining minor injuries from violent attacks using such methods as Molotov cocktails.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass condemned the ICE raids as sowing “terror” and stated that the Los Angeles Police Department would not assist in deportations. Meanwhile, Trump praised the National Guard’s response on Truth Social, vowing to address “riots and looters.”
